Grass-Fed Beef and Sweet Potato Burgers

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb grass-fed ground beef
  • 1/2 cup cooked sweet potato, mashed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 whole-grain or lettuce wraps for serving

Optional Toppings:

  • Avocado slices
  • Red onion rings
  • Arugula or spinach
  • Tomato slices

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Burger Mix:
    • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, mashed sweet potato, egg, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Shape the Patties:
    • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Cook the Burgers:
    • Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface.
    • Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  4. Assemble:
    • Serve the burgers on whole-grain buns or lettuce wraps with your choice of toppings.

Cooking Time: 25 minutes.
Servings: 4.

Tip: For an extra flavor boost, spread a thin layer of chipotle mayo on the bun or wrap. Add a side of baked sweet potato fries for a complementary pairing.
