Grass-Fed Beef and Sweet Potato Burgers
Ingredients:
- 1 lb grass-fed ground beef
- 1/2 cup cooked sweet potato, mashed
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 whole-grain or lettuce wraps for serving
Optional Toppings:
- Avocado slices
- Red onion rings
- Arugula or spinach
- Tomato slices
Instructions:
- Prepare the Burger Mix:
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, mashed sweet potato, egg, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Shape the Patties:
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cook the Burgers:
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface.
- Cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Assemble:
- Serve the burgers on whole-grain buns or lettuce wraps with your choice of toppings.
Cooking Time: 25 minutes.
Servings: 4.
Tip: For an extra flavor boost, spread a thin layer of chipotle mayo on the bun or wrap. Add a side of baked sweet potato fries for a complementary pairing.
